How can I add comments or notes in VS / VScode without changing real code?

Currently I’m analyzing an open source project. If I insert a comment to the code as a real text, it affects to every user’s source code.

So I need a feature or plugin to add comments only for my editor. Is there any way to do this in Visual Studio or VS code?
