Unpack .xml.gz file and open .xml file on Windows

  7zip, tmp, windows, xml

I’ve downloaded an .xml.gz file from a corpus (https://opus.nlpl.eu/OpenSubtitles-v2018.php) and want to open it. Unzipping the file with 7Zip returns an xml.gz.tmp file. I can’t seem to find a way to open that file. I also have another .xml file that I can’t open – neither with Office XML Handler, nor with Notepad or Libre Office. How can extract the files from the .xml.gz file and then open the .xml file? Btw: I’m working with a Windows machine.
