Is there a way I can make stuff appear and disappear on a form with things other than changing visible from true to false and vice versa?

  c++, forms, visual-studio-2019, windows

I’m a high school student and my teacher recently gave us a piece of homework, he said we can make basically any type of project until the end of the semester. I’m currently working on making ultimate tic tac toe, but before the board itself appears, I want to put up a few flags as a language selection screen. My only problem is, I’m using Visual Studio 2019 and after putting the flags up on the form, I don’t know how to remove them from the design screen so I can put up the actual board for the game. I know I can just do

pictureBox1.Visible=false;
pictureBox2.Visible=false;
gameboard.Visible=true;

but that only fixes the problem for the user, how can I remove them from the screen where I edit the design itself? I doubt the only solution is to just have the board behind the flags the whole time I’m making the design. The only thing my teacher has taught about something like this is changing the value of visible. Thank you very much in advance!
