Visual Studio 2022 cross compile for vmware Ubuntu latest long term support

Please, don’t downvote, because I’d like to fix my account and avoid canceling it.
It’s my first hobby GitHub project: AIIS

I’ve Windows 10 Enterprise and VMware Pro 16. I’ve installed Ubuntu as VM, the latest long-term support version.

This small POC work on Windows, but I cannot connect to Ubuntu in Visual Studio 2022.

First of all, I used NAT, but there is no connection to Ubuntu. Later, I’ve changed to Bridge and I can ping the Ubuntu from Windows but not the Windows from Ubuntu.

I’ve enabled ping on both sides and excluded from the firewall the application. I configured ssh on Ubuntu (even copied my pub key) according to the MS Windows description.

I’ve tried everything and I’m starting to destroy my dev environment. So, I would appreciate any kind of help, hints.

On Ubuntu, ssh server runs automatically and configures. Visual Studio cannot connect via port 22 using user and password.

Since this morning, I’ve tried several things, but now I just press buttons on my keyboard.

In the past, I did it. I guess I miss a package from Ubuntu. I don’t think it is related to a firewall. But, of course, I’ve tried that true.

Please let me know if you need more information and I can edit the post or write command. In Visual Studio 2022 connection is still failing.

EDIT:

I don’t know what else I should write. Maybe about my Ubuntu? It is a fresh installation extended by Microsoft instructions.
I restarted everything after every small change.
